About MIFA Lab

Welcome to MIFA Lab!

MIFA Lab was established in 2022 at Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) and stands for Machine Intelligence Foundations and Applications Laboratory (机器智能基础与应用实验室). It is affiliated with Qing Yuan Research Institute (清源研究院) at School of Electronic Information and Electrical Engineering (电院). The origins of MIFA Lab can be traced back to a dynamic research group formed in 2018 by Dr. Weiran Huang, along with his interns and collaborating students, during their time in the industry. Since then, it has evolved into a thriving team focused on cutting-edge advancements in machine intelligence.

At MIFA Lab, we are committed to advancing the field of machine intelligence by bridging the gap between theoretical foundations and practical applications. Our research spans a wide range of topics, including pre-training and foundation models, data-efficient fine-tuning, continual learning, and multimodal learning. We are driven by the mission to make meaningful contributions to both academia and industry, pushing the boundaries of AI.
